Fifer has been writing and recording music since he and two friends formed industrial rock outfit Pitch Black Manor when they were teenagers. Those two yahoos have moved on to other projects - The Human Aftertaste and Spider Translator - and Fifer's been keeping busy as well, mostly with film composition.

COLLABORATIONS

The first two tracks are from a current retro dance project with old pal Dan Kirk called SUPERKID. The next is a song I created with Andreas Olivarria for his someday mockumentary on 80s group Disco Volante. Then we've got a remix (I added a drum track) of a Spider Translator song, I Didn't Think It Would Come Up (Again). Spider Translator responded with an excellent cover of She Used to Work in Porno, also below.

The Saddest Girl - Superkid
Crazy - Superkid
Stranded on Mars - Disco Volante
I Didn't Think It Would Come Up (Again) - Fear Boys vs. Spider Translator
She Used to Work in Porno - The Spider Translator

TRUE MUSIC: THE GIFT OF CHRIS LACKEY

I find Chad Fifer's music trite, shallow, and pedestrian. I'm creating music that will force all that listen to confront their own inner demons. This work is taxing on my soul, but it is what I must do. It is who I must become.
